What is Courtney's Wish?

Imagine being thirteen years old and being diagnosed with a devastating disease. On August 7, 2009, that's just what happened to Courtney Wolfe. She was diagnosed with A.L.L. (Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia). A.L.L. is a form of leukemia affecting mainly children, characterized by anemia, weight loss, bone pain, and fatigue.

At this time Courtney's prognosis is good. She still has a big fight ahead of her. She will have to endure two and a half years of treatments including chemo once a week.  Courtney wants is to be able to go back to school and be with her friends.

Courtney has a wish! Courtney's Wish is to start a campaign to raise $6 million dollars to build a children's cancer center in western Palm Beach County.

Courtney's Wish Campaign got off to a great start with its first event on December 12, 2009. What a great success! We collected blood and raised funds, but more importantly, we raised the awareness level of the community! There are more events coming up that you too can get involved in:

Jeff Annas Memorial Firefighters 5k Run/Walk
When: Saturday September 18, 2010 at 8 am
This year's race will be providing funds to Courtney's Wish.
Where: Okeeheelee Park, 7715 Forest Hill Blvd, W. Palm Beach, Florida.

Courtney is a very special young lady and and our HERO! Courtney was recently interviewed by a local television station (see video above). During the interview Courtney said, "I am going to beat this thing! I am going to be the ONE voice that stands up and says this is not right!" Let's join her and help that one voice turn into many!
